Palm Islands, one of Dubai’s most ambitious megaprojects consist of three man-made islands, namely Palm Jumeirah, Palm Deira and Palm Jebel Ali situated on the coast of Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The islands have residential complexes, hotels, restaurants and malls and were built without concrete or steel. Satellites were used to plot the shape of the structure perfectly into a palm tree. Video monitoring, sediment sampling and analysis are used to check and sustain favourable environmental conditions.
