With 60 celebrated international restaurants, the Mango Tree brand needs little introduction. Famous for serving authentic Thai cuisine in unique settings, it’s renowned the world over. Now, Mango Tree Thai Bistro reopens in a new location at Hilton Dubai The Walk serving up a creative menu of authentic Thai flavours, all of which are prepared by the talented in-house team and Head Chef – Atip Intarakased from Thailand. Here are seven things you’ll love about Mango Tree Thai Bistro…
Eating out doesn’t have to mean dressing up. This new bistro concept, with indoor seating and an outdoor patio, is perfectly suited to guests who want a casual place to dine that’s fun and lively.
Colourful dishes are brilliant fun for children, and Mango Tree Thai Bistro welcomes the whole family – Thai or otherwise. Challenge the little ones with sticky rice and tom yum flavoured potato wedges or keep them sweet with coconut jelly. The friendly waiters will give colouring booklets and table games to help keep the little ones entertained.
Besides the main menu, Mango Tree has an additional menu for vegans and vegetarians that doesn’t compromise on taste. Highlights include the red curry lentil with coconut milk, a fragrant pineapple fried rice, and a delicious okra fai daeng – stirred fried lady fingers with garlic, chili and mung bean sauce.
The tasty street fare at Mango Tree makes you feel as if you’re eating in Bangkok (except without the backpackers). The signature green curry with chicken breast, eggplant, pea aubergines and basil leaves is a must, but even-mustier is its meal-ending, freshly made Thai Street ice cream (aka house made coconut ice cream, served with corn, jackfruit, red ruby and peanuts. Sounds strange but it works!).
It’s double time happy hour at Mango Tree, where diners can enjoy Thai cuisine alongside 30 per cent off selected drinks everyday from 5pm to 7pm, and again at 11pm to 1am.
Weekends now have more zing to them at Mango Tree Thai Bistro, as the venue opens its doors to guests for lunch every Friday and Saturday. Take a break from the beach, and feast on authentic Thai cuisine with friends and family.
The man behind the venue’s design is Ryan Phanphensophon, grandson of Srichai Phanphensophon, who owned the original restaurant in 1957 in Bangkok, and sitting in Mango Tree feels a little like you’re back in its bustling streets. Even the multi-coloured lampshades playfully swinging in the breeze, are fun and fresh – just like the food.
