Famous funnyman Russell Peters will be the first star to grace the stage at Dubai Arena this summer.
The stand-up comedy superstar will make his return to Dubai on Thursday June 6, making him the first act to grace the stage at the epic new arena at City Walk.
Tickets will go on sale at 1pm on Sunday April 7, with tickets priced from Dhs200. There will be five ticket categories available for the gig, starting at Dhs200 for bronze up to Dhs950 for platinum.
The Emmy award-winning comedian is back in Dubai for the third time, promising all-new material as he brings his Deported World Tour to the city. As well as witty observational comedy and the classic audience involvement the comedian has become famous for, guests can expect a laugh-out-loud show later this year.

The Deported World Tour kicked off in Australia and New Zealand in February 2018 and has already travelled to over 29 cities in 20 countries and been seen by over 100,000 fans worldwide.
When it arrives at Dubai Arena, the Deported World Tour will become the first show ever to take place at the state-of-the-art venue.
Upon opening, Dubai Arena will become the largest all-purpose, air-conditioned indoor arena in the Middle East with capacity to host up to 17,000 guests for a variety of events. The venue will be managed by international operator AEG Ogden, who are also responsible for The O2 Arena in London.
As well as concerts and festivals, conferences and exhibitions, Dubai Arena is expected to host sporting events such as basketball, boxing, volleyball, and ice hockey.

Before the booming oil industry, the heartbeat of the UAE economy revolved around pearl diving, an industry that firmly put this tiny region on the international map. And while that may be a tradition of yesteryear, in the sleepy fishing village of Al Rams, the Suwaidi Pearls Farm is keeping this part of the history of the UAE alive.
Found around 10 minutes offshore, you’ll need to take a traditional pearling boat to reach the cultured pearl farm, which occupies four thousand square feet at the foot of the expansive Hajar mountains.
Suwaidi Pearls Farm is the region’s first cultured pearl farm. Founded by Abdulla Al Suwaidi in 2005, Suwaidi Pearls Farm is the region’s first cultured pearl farm, and the only one in the UAE to provide locally sourced pearls to jewellers around the world.
Abdulla’s grandfather was one of the last remaining pearl divers in the UAE before the discovery of oil in the 1920s, and frequently visits the pearl farm to lead tours and guide visitors through the farm. He’s animated, charismatic, and passionate about reviving the country’s proud pearling legacy – proving a brilliant tour guide that keeps visitors entertained for hours.
While the action takes place in neatly lined drills under water, a two-storey boat serves as the base for visitors who come to learn about the deep rooted pearling history of Ras Al Khaimah.
After going through a timeline of the history of pearling, from where it was done to the life-risking process of pearl diving, the tour brings you into the present day, and to the extensive work that goes into pearl farming today.

As only 1 per cent of wild oysters fished produce pearls, oysters need to be farmed and cultivated for a quicker, higher success rate. Tours will take you through the 5-step processes used, which have allowed Suwaidi Pearls Farm to cut down the cultivation process from 18 to 12 months.
The expert team will take you through the process of seeding, where experts insert a round bead made from mother-of-pearl shell, along with oyster tissue, to allow a layer of nacre to grow around the bead, and forming a pearl in the course of time.
The oysters then spend up to a year in vertical baskets, where they’ll be cleaned regularly so as to maintain their health. The farm produces around 40,000 oysters each year, with a 60 per cent pearl production rate.
After a downstairs tour, guests head upstairs to learn about the different sizes, colours and grades of pearl produced not just at the farm, but around the world. You’ll get to marvel at the difference between pearls worth a couple of hundreds of Dirhams, up to those you can’t even put a price on.
At the end of the tour, guests will get to take part in an oyster opening experience. A handful of matured oysters are kept in an aquarium, and guests can choose which one they’d like to have opened in front of them, in the hope that they’ll find a precious pearl inside.
Guests seeking a little more adventure can also book to go pearl diving at the farm, and experience it all first hand.
Once you’ve got your culture fix at the pearl farm, head out to the nearby mangroves for a mangrove tour in the pearling boat, where you’ll see camels playing in the water, flamingoes bathing or may catch a turtle or two swimming by.

When We Brunch bust onto the party brunch scene in 2017, few brunches were delivering the tri-factor of good food, great music and a brilliant party atmosphere. The party brunch, brought to the city by Love Parties (the masterminds behind the city’s sellout brunches Hidden at Treehouse and The Stage) quickly packed out week in, week out.
Fast forward two years, and the competition have seriously upped their game, so what can We Brunch do to stand out in a sea of lively Friday feasts?
When we visit they’re celebrating their second birthday and the venue’s been completely kitted out with balloons and confetti. So, if you weren’t already in the mood to party, you should be now. A milkshake wall serves as the perfect backdrop for well-dressed guests to snap selfies, while a ball pit bath and donut wall are welcome touches that have been designed to be photographed.
The room quickly packs out with partygoers and while an indoor seat gets you closer to the buffet, on a nice day we’d pick a Marina view alfresco table every time.
Pop-up bars are great new additions that get guests on their feet, although table service is swift too, meaning drinks are rarely empty.
The food has also undergone an upgrade too, and now features a sushi and seafood station, salad bar and bread station before you make it to mains. It’s not the biggest selection you’ll see, but it ticks all the boxes for having a handful of Asian and Italian dishes alongside the star of the show – the roast spread. A live BBQ station is also a brilliant addition, with dishes cooked-to-order and delivered to the table.
We love the desserts – cute little pastries and mini desserts line up alongside an interactive ice cream bar and help yourself donut wall.
By the end of the brunch (which has been extended by an extra half hour recently), partygoers are on their feet, and birthday celebrations errupt around us as cupcakes and confetti are dished out to nearby tables.
Don’t miss out on the after party, that happens upstairs at Marina Social’s bar space. As well as offering a complimentary drink to We Brunch guests, anyone heading to the after party can enjoy five drinks for Dhs150.

This family-friendly spot in The Lakes serves up a roast dinner every Saturday and Sunday. There’s a variety of meats on the menu (chicken is priced at Dhs100 while beef is Dhs124), and it’s served up with all the classic English trimmings and lashings of gravy. With views of the lake and a proper pub garden to be enjoyed in the cooler months, you could easily be mistaken for thinking you were in the UK.

Formerly known as The Black Lion, Dubai’s leading chef duo Nick Alvis and Scott Price have moved in as the pub landlords, and they serve up a weekly roast every Saturday and Sunday at their renamed pub, The Lion by Nick and Scott. Casual Scottish pub Copper Dog is the kind of place you don’t need to glam up for, which is great for a weekend you just want to spend pigging out on a proper roast. Their offering, available from Friday to Sunday is priced at Dhs115, and it’s a choice of three meats with a selection of veg. They’re not our favourite trimmings, but it’s still a generous portion.

Irish pub chain McGettigan’s serve up a weekly Saturday and Sunday roast at all their Dubai branches (that’s JLT, Souk Madinat and DWTC). Where fine dining meets comfort food, you’ll find Marina Social. The restaurant by celebrity chef Jason Atherton in Dubai Marina serves up a lunch and dinner service of its traditional roast for Dhs120 per person. When it’s cooler, bag a table on the outdoor terrace and soak up the Dubai Marina views as well as every last mouthful of gravy-drenched Yorkshire pud.

Bright and lively country pub, The Duck Hook, located at the 19th hole of Dubai Hills Golf Club, offers up a simple yet effective roast with sides for Dhs125. Celebrity chef Simon Rimmer’s popular British restaurant in Dubai Marina serves up an all-day roast every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There’s lamb, beef, chicken or nutloaf for the veggies, and they’re all served up with seasonal vegetables and a giant Yorkshire pudding. There’s also the option to supersize for the extra-hungry, or add a bottle of wine for Dhs130.

There’s an upscale Argentinian twist on the weekend roast at Gaucho Dubai. The vegetables might be typically traditional, but the cuts of meat on offer include sirloin, ribeye or whole spatchcock chicken. Upgrade to two courses and it’s Dhs270, or Dhs320 for three courses. There’s also a beverage package available for an extra Dhs210, which offers two hours of unlimited house drinks.
