While the winter season is still upon us, there’s nothing we love more than being outdoors.
And with the weather in Dubai getting a bit warmer, we’re all about any excuse to be outside. So what better way to do it than with an al fresco film?
Here are six outdoor cinemas in Dubai to try.
This rooftop cinema above the Galleria Mall has re-opened for the winter season and is showing a host of blockbusters. Each ticket includes a food and beverage pack, as well as a blanket to cosy up with in case it gets chilly. Seating options vary from beanbags and single seats to cushy couches suitable for two.

Dubai’s first permanent licensed outdoor cinema opened its doors this year at the recently opened Aloft City Centre Deira. While through the hot summer months the roof stays on, during winter the roof comes off so guests can enjoy a stunning open-air movie experience. It’s lounge-style seating designed for both singles and couples, and comes with a menu of gourmet cinema snacks and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages served to your seat.

Cinema on the Bay is the outdoor screen available at Dubai Festival City until April 30. There are free screenings every Sunday to Thursday, showing movies such as Black Panther, Moana and Jumanji. The movie runs from 7pm to 9pm, and there are plenty of bean bags to get comfortable on for the evening.

The Urban Outdoor Cinema shows a variety of family-friendly classic films three times a week on a Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Plus, there’s food service from the hotel’s pizza restaurant and poolside lounge as well as a pop-up bar serving popcorn and bites. Wrap up warm as it gets cool at night.

Zero Gravity’s cinema on the sand runs every Sunday on the beach of the Dubai Marina beach club. They’ll show a different blockbuster each time, with the movie starting at 8pm. Admission is priced at Dhs50, though it’s fully redeemable on food and drink, with a range of cinema snacks, as well as service from a fully licensed bar on offer.

One Monday a month, Dhow and Anchor show a family-friendly film on their alfresco terrace under the twinkle of the Burj Al Arab. It’s free to attend, with free popcorn and candyfloss too.

American rapper Wiz Khalifa is set to headline at Medyan super clubs White and Drai’s this weekend.
The Roll Up hitmaker will first headline at White Dubai on Thursday April 4, followed by a huge gig at neighbouring super club Drai’s on Friday April 5.
Tickets for both events will be available on the door, with tickets available to pre-purchase online at Virgin Megastore for the Drai’s gig. Tickets for Drai’s are priced at Dhs100 for ladies earlybird including one drink and Dhs300 for gents earlybird with two drinks. General admission is Dhs200 for ladies with two drinks and Dhs400 for guys with three drinks.
No stranger to White Dubai, the open air Dubai super club featured in Wiz Khalifa’s Laugh Now, Fly Later music video in 2017.
This will be Wiz Khalifa’s first time performing at Drai’s Dubai, so we can’t wait to see him entertain the crowd at the epic open-air venue.

Although he’s been releasing music since 2006, Wiz Khalifa garnered more mainstream attention with the release of Black and Yellow in 2010. Since then, he’s gone on to produce singles with Nicki Minaj, Imagine Dragons and The Weeknd.
The American rapper is most famed for his track ‘See You Again’, which spent 12 weeks at number one in the Billboard charts.
It’s been a stellar season at Meydan, with an impressive list of R&B and urban stars headlining gigs at the venue over the last few months which includes Ne-Yo, Rick Ross and Tinie Tempah.
