The Penthouse’s Skyline Thursdays have brought a number of big-name DJ superstars this season, with Eli & Fur, Solardo, Disciples and Wanklemut all spinning over the last few months.
But it’s not over yet, the stunning rooftop spot has announced a major line-up for April, which includes Felix Jaehn, Hannah Wants and Lost Frequencies.
Due to the increasing success of the weekly night, The Penthouse now also offers an evening brunch featureing live cooking stations and unlimited drinks from 9pm to 11pm. Priced at Dhs149 for women and Dhs249 for gents, it’s a great way to warm up for a big night out.
Here’s who you’ll catch spinning this month…

German producer, DJ and song-writer, Felix Jaehn, rose to fame when he remixed OMI’s Cheerleader into the number 1 hit version that we know and love today. He then went on to produce incredible tracks such as Ain’t Nobody, Feel Good and All The Lies. He has also collaborated with Steve Aoki and Adam Lambert on Can’t Go Home, with ALMA on Bonfire and Marc E. Bassy & Gucci Mane on Cool. He will be taking the stage at The Penthouse for the first time with Johannes Hohls on April 4, due to play from midnight until the early hours.

Berlin-based duo, Booka Shade, will play at The Penthouse’s Skyline Thursdays on April 11. Legends in the European electronic dance music industry, you might recognise the 2005 song Body Language as the bassline was sampled for Jax Jones’ hit You Don’t Know Me. The pair, who have remixed the likes of Depeche Mode, Moby, Hot Since 82 and Kings of Leon, have been making music and playing shows for almost two decades with no signs of slowing down.

The award-winning DJ and producer is best known for her debut single Rhymes with Chris Lorenzo, she has since gone on to launch her own label and is due to release a new record titled When I Think of You soon. She has toured all around the world, remixing some of the biggest songs of the past decade including La Roux, Disclosure and Tough Love.

Not content with only one performance at The Penthouse this year, Lost Frequencies is due to return just two months later for another epic show. The Belgian Are You With Me hit-maker reached number 1 in 18 countries at just 20 years old. He’s since gone on to further his success with remixes of Major Lazer/Justin Bieber/MØ’s Cold Water, Miley Cyrus’ Malibu and LSD’s Thunderclouds as well as his own follow up singles Reality, Beautiful Life, What Is Love and All Or Nothing.

It is impossible to know whether this post at Al-Emirati.com on the victims of the recent Air India disaster is intended to be some appalling attempt at humour or satire, but by every single measure it is absolutely beyond the pale:
Not really. Not only do I not care if the victims "rest in peace" but it seems to me that they are, rather, resting in pieces!
I am of course talking about flight IX 812 from Dubai to Balglapour (or some other hell hole, they're all the same) that recently crashed (click here)
I know I know. Mean, blah blah. The way I see it is as follows. The UAE is (about) 50% Indians, Something that I, and 90% of all other Emaratis see as a bad thing.
This plane, carrying Indians who live and work here, means that 160 indians that clog up the roads, cause accidents, fail code inspections at Indian restaurants, speak like this guy, and are a general drag on the security of the UAE, wont be coming back. That is a very GOOD thing!
I can only pray that this happens every week!
Sadly, we'll probably have 160 new VISAs for 160 new Indians issued in 3 hours... And the authority in charge of this will flaunt that, as if it's a good thing.
