After our traditional boat ride across the Dubai Creek, we have now set foot in the ‘Old Souk’ a.k.a. ‘Textile Souk’.

Is there a more iconic emblem of Arabia than Dubai’s famous Souks?

The bazaar consists of a long line of restored sand-coloured stone buildings, covered by a wooden roof. The multitude of small shops here offer a massive range of fabrics (cashmere, silk, cotton, wool etc.) plus garments, slippers, souvenirs, and other goods.

The Textile Souk can be reached from Deira (Gold Souk, Spice Souk, Perfume Souk) by crossing the water on an abra or water taxi (which you can watch on my previous video ‘DUBAI CREEK & ABRA TOUR’). The Abra ride is the fastest way to cross the creek and will only cost you 1 dirham! It’s an amazing way to see Dubai and experience the UAE’s culture!
Alternatively, you are able to travel by Metro on the Green Line and get off at Al Ghubaiba Metro Station or Al Fahidi Metro Station.

The Bastakia Quarter and Dubai Museum are nearby and well worth a visit while in the area.

Thank you for watching!
