Dubai Tidbits:
Dubai is a multicultural city that has grown enormously in recent decades. The “roundabouts” in Texas are not truly roundabouts. You learn to appreciate the fictional roundtables when you go around an actual roundabout going about 60mph. Dubai has several roundabouts, and the first time I experienced a high-speed roundabout, my inner thoughts were screaming WTF, Seriously, OMG, GEEZ… COOL! And going over 100 mph is the norm!

In Dubai, I visited and met my ½ brother, Roderick Oliver. I only found out about a year ago that I had a ½ brother. I briefly connected with him and his family in Dubai and had a marvelous time!

I arrived in Dubai about a week before the Ultimate World cruise departed. In Dubai, I indulged in the city’s cultural aspects and did about two major daily excursions. My days and nights were jam-packed with exploring, eating, and learning. My time was limited, and I wanted to make the most of it.

I stayed at a fantastic hotel, and the view from the top was breathtaking. Dubai’s skyline was beyond magnificent. I visited the Frame, Burj Khalifa, and almost every highlighted attraction listed on TripAdvisor as a “Must See!”

The only downer was that I arrived in Dubai without my luggage. It’s still debatable whether it was United or Emirates’ fault. My bags spent about three days in Houston and about three days in Germany. If it weren’t for my Apple AirTags, United would still be looking for my luggage in Austin. Thanks, Sheila, for trying to help me get my luggage to leave Houston! I received my luggage in Dubai right before my cruise!
