Festive lights engulfed the night sky of Downtown Dubai (top) as the city held an extravagant celebration to make sure 2019 arrived with a bang. The skyline across the city was filled with an array of colour and smoke as a spellbinding fireworks display flew across the Burj Khalifa tower in the United Arab Emirates city. Extravagant celebrations were also seen in the Philippines (inset), Malaysia (bottom left) and Moscow (bottom centre) as crowds of people gathered to welcome in the New Year. In Singapore (bottom right) crowds of people were greeted by a futuristic fireworks display and live performances at Marina Bay.
